As part of the second project meeting held in Slavonski Brod on January 26, 2023, the project partners visited the production facility of Brod plin – CTS Slavonija.
CTS Slavonija is the only central heating system in the city of Slavonski Brod. The boiler room consists of two gas boilers with a total installed capacity of 10 MW, and the total length of the district heating pipeline connecting the boiler room to two residential areas (Naselje Slavonija I and Naselje Slavonija II) is 2.55 km. The system is connected to 1095 independent consumer units with a total leased capacity of 7.5 MW. The entire existing district heating network was replaced in 2019 with new pre-insulated twin and twin conty pipes with a diffusion barrier.
The focus of the visit to the boiler room was the integration of renewable energy sources into the heating system (solar collectors, heat pumps), as well as the connection of existing closed heating systems, also owned by Brod plin, with CTS Slavonija.
