The visit to the Karlovac City Heating Plant took place as part of the seventh project meeting held on November 23, 2023, in Karlovac. The ITU project for the revitalization of the district heating network in the city of Karlovac was presented to the project partners. As part of this project, 15.7 km of district heating pipeline (31.4 km of pipes) was replaced, the equipment of the district heating part of thermal substations was revitalized, pumps in the distribution system for chemical water preparation were modernized, and a central control system for network management and monitoring was installed.
The implementation of the project significantly increased the efficiency of the thermal energy distribution system, created conditions for continuous heating, and completed preparations for the introduction of renewable energy sources into the production facility.
The partners exchanged experiences related to the implementation of the investment project, the operating regimes of the heating plant after the network renewal, and Energo presented the benefits of 24-hour heating.
