EIT Urban Mobility Hub Croatia gladly joined other eleven UM RIS hubs on their first Summit held on the 8th and 9th of March 2022 in beautiful Budapest, Hungary. The event was a great opportunity to learn about the activities of the hubs, but also to meet the persons behind them, willing to learn, teach and share experiences. During the two-day program, all RIS hubs were introduced to the structure and activities of the EIT Urban mobility. The participants also exchanged their views on the mission of their respective hubs and presented their achievements in 2021. The activities of the Innovation hubs were also presented at the Summit. EIT Urban Mobility Hub Croatia is linked to the Innovation Hub Central, based in Munich (Germany), in the new Urban Colab where startups, corporate innovators, scientists and creatives from the most diverse sectors and disciplines are working together under one roof on intelligent technologies and services for smart city solutions.
Innovation Hub Central aims to engage all relevant stakeholders in the field of urban mobility situated in the countries covered. A number of key cities, universities, industries and SMEs are already member of EIT community, such as the cities of Munich, Milan and Istanbul, Siemens Mobility GmbH, BMW as well as the universities EPFL Lausanne, Politecnico di Milano and the Technical University of Munich.
The connections established during the first RIS Hub Summit will likely result in new projects and urban mobility best practices to be replicated throughout the RIS region.
