Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) – Public Sector Solar Projects
Planning and implementation of solar power plants for the public sector through physical PPA contracts for hospitals (General Hospital Zabok, General Hospital Karlovac, Special Hospital Krapinske Toplice), as well as 8 locations owned by the City of Zagreb. Private partners built 2 MWp of solar power plants and will supply electricity at a fixed price for the next 10–15 years.
Project SHARES – Establishing Energy Communities
One of the first energy communities has been established, including the Špičkovina Volunteer Fire Department and 18 households. The project includes all administrative processes and the construction of an 80 kWp solar power plant, where electricity is produced and shared among members using a static sharing key. The first co-ownership energy community in a multi-apartment building is also being developed in Karlovac.
Croatia’s First Municipal Biomass District Heating Plant – Pokupsko
Preparation of analyses, studies, project documentation, securing investment, implementation, and supervision of the construction of Croatia’s first municipal biomass district heating plant in Pokupsko, with a capacity of 1 MW and a 1.5 km heating network. Operational since 2015, this €1.5 million investment was financed through the IPARD pre-accession program and the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund. The system provides heating for public buildings and 30 households, and in 2016, it won the prestigious EUSEW award for the best sustainable energy project.
Contract-Based Heat Energy Sales - Green Energy, RenewHeat and Woodkey
In collaboration with Karlovac County, through the Green Energy, RenewHeat, and Woodkey projects, contract and procurement documentation were prepared for four heat energy sales agreements. Private investors committed to constructing biomass boiler rooms with a total capacity of 1.4 MW (Primary School Slunj, Primary School Slave Raškaj Ozalj, High School Duga Resa, and a school complex in Ogulin) and supplying heat energy for the duration of the contracts. This model ensured the use of domestic energy sources, combined EU funds, the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, and private capital, earning several prestigious awards (Energy Globe, Župan.hr – Best EU Project).
PVMax, ELENA EIB
2021 – 2025
Providing technical assistance for preparing solar power plant projects, battery storage, and SCADA management. Over €50 million in investments initiated, resulting in approximately 70 MW of solar power plants for more than 200 clients.
D2Heat, LIFE
2022 – 2026
We are implementing the decarbonization of the district heating sector in collaboration with HEP, ENERGO, Brod Plin, and Toplana Karlovac. This project prepares investments worth over €150 million in the heat production and distribution.
SmartEPC, HORIZON
2020, 2022 – 2024
Reconstruction of the public lighting system by including energy and non-energy services (Smart City solutions, EV chargers in lighting poles, etc.) through an energy performance contract and testing the approach in a system reconstruction project in the city of Karlovac worth around EUR 7 million.
NEWLIGHT, ELENA EIB
2015 – 2018
Modernization of public lighting in 57 municipalities and cities across Zagreb and Krapina-Zagorje Counties, with a total investment of €20 million. As part of the project, 57 energy audits and public lighting action plans were developed.
