REGEA (Northwest Croatia Regional Energy and Climate Agency) has been implementing the European project PVMax since 2021. The project is co-financed by ELENA as part of the HORIZON 2020 program. The PVMax project provides legal, technical, and financial consulting services to clients from the private and public sectors in the development of solar power plants (PV). Over 700 projects of integrated solar power plants with a total capacity of over 180 MWp have been prepared so far. More than 50 MWp have been built or are in construction, with a total capital investment value exceeding 35 million EUR. By the end of the project (June 2024), the realization of over 100 MWp in total of new renewable energy sources in Croatia is expected. During the implementation of the PVMax project, obstacles slowing down the faster preparation and construction of solar power plants have been identified.
